Covid-19 Information

We are committed to maintaining the health and safety of our clients, their families and our therapists, and to preventing the spread of Covid-19. To meet this, we follow the advice and guidelines from our regulatory and professional bodies (viz. RCOT (Royal college of Occupational Therapists) & HCPC (Health & Care Professionals Council)) as well as the guidance and legislation set out by Central Government.

OT Rehab potential is currently providing remote (Skype, Zoom & WhatsApp) OT assessments and interventions wherever possible as this caries 0 risk for the transmission of the virus.

We do provide face to face or home assessments and interventions.  However these are governed by the consent from the client, the specific need for the interaction and after carrying out individualised Covid-19 risk assessments.

The Covid-19 risk assessments takes into consideration whether the therapist, the client, and/or any member of their respective households:

  • have had any of the Covid-19 symptoms (high temperature, cough, loss or change in smell or taste)
  • whether they have isolated for a minimum of 14 days
  • whether anyone is considered vulnerable and requires shielding
  • assessing if members of the household understands and can follow the social distancing guidelines
  • determining whether the visit can be done outdoors and whether 1-2m social distance can be feasible
  • establishing that everyone involved understands and accepts the risks associated with a face to face visit

We will not proceed with any face to face contact, should the therapist, the client or any member of the respective households are symptomatic or are currently self-isolating.

OT Rehab Potential staff will be wearing appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) which includes a face mask, an apron and gloves for all visits.  We reserve the right to terminate any face to face visit if we feel that either our safety or the safety of others is compromised.
